Health Improvements 2025
After a health warning incident around July of 2024, a troubling event jolting my vision and balance, I visited the doctor, had a blood test, consulted with a nutritionist and made some adjustments to my diet.
After about 5 months I had another blood test, consulted with a dietician and made further adjustments to my diet.
Another 5 months went by, I had another blood test and the results convinced me that we were on the right track with my diet.
Here are some of the observed recent improvements.
• My cholesterol levels are back to normal.
• My triglycerides are back to normal.
• My RBC is increasing but not quite in the normal range yet.
• I lost about 10 lbs. and my weight is now steady.
• My bowel movements are less erratic and more controlled.
• My left arm and back stress, pain and discomfort has reduced considerably.
• I’m sleeping better more often.
• My strength has increased noticeably.
• I went from doing 20 to 30 pushups per day to over 50.
• I could only do partial pushups before, now I do full range pushups.
• My balance has improved, my metabolism is more stable and I feel healthier.
• My arthritis has decreased.
• My carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms have decreased.
• My hands are steadier.
My diet basically follows God’s food laws and principles more closely and it is tweaked to my personal metabolism. My wife has much the same diet. We eat only clean meat, that is meat designated as approved by God for Christian consumption according to the book of Leviticus. I eat lots of legumes and nuts daily. We eat lots of vegetables daily. We eat mostly fish and chicken for our protein and some beef and eggs. We eat lots of rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes and noodles of various types. We try to eat organic low processed food. We try to avoid consuming pesticides, herbicides and other contaminants, especially the Bill Gates kinds.
We avoid frozen, deep fried breaded fish and chicken. This change greatly reduces the amount of fat that I eat. I have significantly decreased my consumption of butter and sugar. This was done by curtailing the use salad dressings, mayonnaise, ketchup, ice-cream and desserts. We were already greatly avoiding the use of white sugar, we never buy the stuff, but many food products contain sugar and we try to avoid those now also. I also reduced my consumption of cheese.
We avoid medication as much as possible. I’m on one prescribed medication for a chemical imbalance in my system, have been since 1997, and I take some food supplements because I believe that food lacks nutrition due to mass production processes and food preservation practices.
Prayers from the brethren may be playing a part in my improved health but our prayer requests were not specifically for the benefits that I am experiencing.
Biblical and Historical Perspectives
Through the ages, rich foods, often high in fats, sugars, or calories, have posed health risks if consumed excessively. They’re linked to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and many other conditions due to high cholesterol, saturated fats, or refined sugars. For example, the American Heart Association notes that diets high in saturated fats can raise LDL cholesterol, increasing cardiovascular risk. However, moderate consumption of nutrient-dense foods, like fatty fish or nuts, can be part of a well-balanced diet. Fat and sugar are a normal part of digestion and nutrition. Problems occur with imbalance and excesses. Combining this with current science, rich foods should be eaten in moderation to avoid health issues, which seems to agree well with God’s timely Feasts.
The Bible’s focus is less on specific foods and more on self-control and stewardship of the body, the temple of God. Once baptised you become a temple or dwelling place for God the Father and Jesus.
1. Old Testament Dietary Laws
The Old Testament, particularly in the Mosaic Law, provides specific dietary guidelines for the Israelites, God’s chosen people, emphasizing cleaness, holiness and distinction from other nations. These are primarily in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14:
Clean and Unclean Foods:
• Leviticus 11:1-47: Lists animals that are "clean" (permissible to eat) and "unclean" (prohibited). For example:
• Allowed: Animals with a split hoof and that chew the cud (e.g., cattle, sheep, goats, deer, song birds and a list of others, fish with fins and scales).
• Forbidden: Pigs, camels, shellfish, certain birds (e.g., scavengers, birds of prey, ostriches, crows), most insects except the locust family, reptiles. Others are listed.
• Deuteronomy 14:3-21: Reaffirms these rules, linking them to Israel’s covenant with God. A covenant that brought the people closer to God by showing respect and obedience to His laws, statues, commandments, ordinances, preferences, suggestions, implications, wishes and His will. They were signs of obedience, of honour, of glory and of love for God.
• Purpose: These laws were not just for ritual purity and health but to make our souls, our bodies, minds and spirits ready for the resurrection and transformation, ready to be born again, to become temples of God.
Salt: Significance and Importance
The Bible mentions salt in various contexts, often symbolically. In Leviticus 2:13, it instructs that grain offerings be seasoned with salt, calling it the "salt of the covenant" with God, suggesting its importance in religious rituals and its use in food preparation.
Numbers 18:19 also refers to a "covenant of salt," implying permanence, preservation and importance.
In the New Testament, Jesus calls his followers the "salt of the earth" (Matthew 5:13), using salt as a metaphor for influence, preservation, acceptability and palatability.
Here are some verses to strengthen the function, importance and necessity of salt.
Leviticus 2:13 (FGOB)
13 And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt; you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God [alhyk] to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt.
Numbers 18:19 (FOGB)
19 “All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer to the Lord [yhvh], I have given to you and your sons and daughters with you as an ordinance forever; it is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord [yhvh] with you and your descendants with you.”
2 Chronicles 13:5 (FOGB)
5 Should you not know that the Lord God [yhvh alhy] of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?
Ezra (FOGB)
6:9 And whatever they need—young bulls, rams, and lambs for the burnt offerings to the God [lalh] of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the request of the priests who are in Jerusalem—let it be given them day by day without fail,
7:22 up to one hundred talents of silver, one hundred kors of wheat, one hundred baths of wine, one hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribed limit.
Job 6:6
6 Can flavorless food be eaten without salt?
Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
Mark 9: 49-50
49 “For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. 50 Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”
Luke 14:34-35
34 “Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land nor for the rubbish heap, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Colossians 4:6
6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
From a practical standpoint, salt was highly valued in ancient times for preserving food and enhancing flavor and its use was assumed in daily life, as it is today.
Modern science confirms salt is essential for bodily functions, though excessive intake can be harmful. It also makes food taste much better.
Blood and Fat Restrictions:
• Leviticus 7:22-27, 17:10-14: Prohibits eating blood and fat from certain offerings, as life is in the blood and is sacred to God.
Tithing and Feasting:
• Deuteronomy 14:22-29: Encourages tithing crops and livestock, with provisions to eat and celebrate before God at His Feast and High Days, promoting gratitude, rejoicing and fellowship. One implication of having Feasts is that you consume a little more than usual at these special times of the year.
2. Moderation and Gluttony
The Bible frequently emphasizes moderation in consumption to avoid gluttony or excess:
• Proverbs 23:1-3, 20-21: Warns against overeating, especially at a ruler’s table, and against being "among drunkards or gluttonous eaters of meat," linking excess to poverty and lack of discipline.
Proverbs 23:1-3, 20-21 (FOGB)
1 When you sit down to eat with a ruler,
2 And put a knife to your throat
If you are a man given to appetite.
3 Do not desire his delicacies,
For they are deceptive food.
20 Do not mix with winebibbers,
Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;
21 For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty,
And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.
• Proverbs 25:16, 27: Compares overeating honey to seeking one’s own glory—too much is harmful.
Proverbs 25:16, 27 (FOGB)
16 Have you found honey?
Eat only as much as you need,
Lest you be filled with it and vomit.
27 It is not good to eat much honey;
So to seek one’s own glory is not glory.
• Proverbs 23:29-35: Condemns drunkenness, describing its physical and moral consequences (e.g., "woe, sorrow, strife").
Proverbs 23:29-35 (FOGB)
29 Who has woe?
Who has sorrow?
Who has contentions?
Who has complaints?
Who has wounds without cause?
Who has redness of eyes?
30 Those who linger long at the wine,
Those who go in search of mixed wine.
31 Do not look on the wine when it is red,
When it sparkles in the cup,
When it swirls around smoothly;
32 At the last it bites like a serpent,
And stings like a viper.
33 Your eyes will see strange things,
And your heart will utter perverse things.
34 Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea,
Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying:
35 “They have struck me, but I was not hurt;
They have beaten me, but I did not feel it.
When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?”
• Ecclesiastes 10:17: Praises leaders who eat for strength, not drunkenness, implying disciplined consumption.
Ecclesiastes 10:17 (FOGB)
17 Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles,
And your princes feast at the proper time—
For strength and not for drunkenness!
3. New Testament Principles
The New Testament shifts focus from strict dietary laws to spiritual principles, emphasizing fulfilment of past prophecies, looking forward to fulfilment of prophecies and adopting and adapting to new customs:
Adoption of new Passover customs:
• Wheat and grapes prepared as bread and wine representing Jesus body and blood to be consumed instead of the meat of a lamb on the Passover every year.
Matthew 26:18, 26-29
18 And He (Jesus) said,
“Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.” ’ ”
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said,
“Take, eat; this is My body.”
27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying,
“Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's [Patros] kingdom.”
By doing this, consuming His body and blood, Jesus enters our lives, anew every year, a rejuvenation, a conformation, a reassurance that He lives in us, His temples, and that we will attain life with Him and His Father in the soon coming Kingdom of God. It is the purest of all food and drink and we must be clean and receive it in a proper manner.
Moderation and Self-Control:
• 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 : The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, so believers should honor God with their bodies, implying responsible consumption, eating only clean food always.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (FOGB)
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit that is in you, whom you have from God [Theou], and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God [Theos] in your body
• 1 Corinthians 10:31: “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God,”
encouraging mindful eating, eating only clean food always.
• Romans 14:1-23: Urges believers not to judge others’ food choices (e.g., eating meat vs. vegetables both being clean foods) but to act according to conscience and avoid causing others to stumble.
Avoiding Excess:
• Ephesians 5:18 (FOGB)
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is degeneracy; but be filled with the Spirit
• Philippians 3:17-19: Warns against those whose “god is their belly,” linking gluttony to spiritual destruction.
Philippians 3:17-19 (FOGB)
17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose God [Theos] is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.
Misinterpretations By The Enemy:
• Mark 7:14-23 (FOGB)
14 When He (Jesus) had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them,
“Hear Me, everyone, and understand: 15 There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.
16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
17 When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable. 18 So He said to them,
Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, 19 because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?”
20 And He said,
“What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
Jesus is saying that the things that defile a person is not food, food just passes through the body, but the things that people hold in their hearts like lies, deceptions, evil, vengeance, wickedness. He is not advocating the eating of poison or unclean food.
• In Acts 10:9-16 Peter is shown a vison of many of the foods eaten by gentiles.
Again, this is not advocating the eating of that unclean food but rather the acceptance of people who do or did eat it. The way to salvation was being opened to the gentiles through Peter. God’s way continues to follow His laws, the law is not being changed here, the church is being expanded.
• 1 Timothy 4:1-5 (FOGB)
Now the Spirit explicitly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God [Theos] created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God [Theou] is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is set apart by the word of God [Theou] and prayer.
“Commanding to abstain from foods,” what does that mean or imply? Does the Bible interpret itself? In keeping with the teachings of the rest of the bible, is it not the spirit of abstaining from God’s food laws, the clean foods that God created for His people, the food that should be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth?
• Acts 15:28-29 (FOGB)
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from fornication. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.
4. Specific Examples of Consumption Guidance
Daniel’s Diet:
• Daniel avoids the king’s food and wine, choosing vegetables and water, and is healthier as a result. This suggests simple diets are beneficial.
Daniel 1:8-16 (FOGB)
8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 9 Now the Gods [halhym] had brought Daniel into the favor and compassion of the chief of the eunuchs. 10 And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my Lord [yhvh] the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king.”
11 So Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” 14 So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days.
15 And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s delicacies. 16 Thus the steward took away their portion of delicacies and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.
Medicinal Use:
• Paul advises Timothy to “use a little wine” for stomach ailments, indicating moderate use of substances for health is acceptable.
1 Timothy 5:23 (FOGB)
23 No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent illnesses.
Fasting:
• Jesus teaches fasting with humility, not for show. Fasting is voluntary and spiritual, a practice of self-discipline (e.g., Acts 13:2-3, Joel 2:12).
Matthew 6:16-18 (FOGB)
16 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad expression. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father [Patri] who is in the secret place; and your Father [Pater] who sees in secret will reward you.
Luke 2:37 (FOGB)
37 and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God (Theo) with fastings and prayers night and day.
Did this woman fast every night and day? Or did she only pray every night and day? A person could fast at certain times of every day. We all fast while we sleep and break fast in the morning. I think it is important and wise to fast with patience and prayer when supper is late.
Feasting and Celebration:
• Jesus’ first documented miracle was turning water into wine at a wedding, endorsing moderate enjoyment in celebration. John 2:1-11
• The parable of the prodigal son includes feasting to celebrate reconciliation, showing food’s role in community and joy.
Luke 15:23-24
22 “But the father [Pater] said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
• We may partake in our own modest celebrations and feastings but we are commanded to observe God’s Feasts and to rejoice in them.
Deuteronomy 12:5-7, 15, 18
5 “But you shall seek the place where the Lord your God [yhvh alhykm] chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go. 6 There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. 7 And there you shall eat before the Lord your God [yhvh alhykm], and you shall rejoice in all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which the Lord your God [yhvh alhyk] has blessed you.
15 “However, you may slaughter and eat meat within all your gates, whatever your heart desires, according to the blessing of the Lord your God [yhvh alhyk] which He has given you;
18 But you must eat them before the Lord your God [yhvh alhyk] in the place which the Lord your God [yhvh alhyk] chooses, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God [yhvh alhyk] in all to which you put your hands.
5. Pharmaceuticals
The Greek word pharmakeia (φαρμακεία) and its related forms appear in the New Testament, specifically in the following verses:
• Galatians 5:20: Listed among the "works of the flesh," translated as "sorcery" or "witchcraft" in most English Bibles.
Galatians 5:19-21 (FOGB)
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery [pharmakeia], hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God [Theou].
• Revelation 9:21: Refers to unrepented sins, including "sorceries" (pharmakeia).
Revelation 9: 20-21 (FOGB)
20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their pharmaceutics or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
Bear in mind that since 2000 AD, the onset of the Covid Vaccines, the vaccines have caused more deaths than WW1 and WW2 combined and probably many more injuries and illnesses as well.
• Revelation 18:23: Describes Babylon deceiving nations through "sorcery" (pharmakeia).
Revelation 18:21-24 (FOGB)
21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. 23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your pharmaceutics all the nations were deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”
As of today, June 3, 2025, the count of people killed by the Covid vaccines is over 40 million globally. The elites or globalists’ goal is around 7 billion. Satan’s goal is total annihilation.
• Revelation 21:8 and 22:15: Use the related term pharmakeus (φαρμακεύς, "sorcerer") to describe those excluded from the Kingdom of God.
Revelation 21:6-8
6 And He said to me,
“It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God [Theos] and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers [pharmakeus], idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Consider that there are virtually no “sorcerers” around today but there are many involved in pharmaceutics.
Hebrew Equivalents in the Old Testament:
The concept of pharmakeia—often tied to sorcery, witchcraft, or the use of potions/drugs—has parallels in the Old Testament, though no single Hebrew word directly matches pharmakeia.
A related Hebrew term is Keshef (כֶּשֶׁף): Often translated as "sorcery," "witchcraft," or "magic." It appears in:
• Exodus 7:11: Pharaoh’s magicians using "secret arts" (sorcery).
• Deuteronomy 18:10-11: Condemns practices like divination and sorcery.
• 2 Kings 9:22: Jezebel’s "whorings and sorceries" (keshef).
• Micah 5:12: God will cut off sorceries (keshef).
• Nahum 3:4: Refers to Nineveh’s "sorceries."
• Malachi 3:5: God judges those who practice sorcery (keshef).
• 2 Chronicles 33:6: Manasseh’s evil acts, including sorcery (keshef).
• Total: 7 mentions of keshef in O.T.
Key Differences:
• Pharmakeia in Greek often implies the use of drugs, potions, or poisons in magical or idolatrous practices, with a focus on altering health, consciousness or manipulating spiritual forces.
• Hebrew terms like keshef and qesem are broader, encompassing sorcery, witchcraft, divination, or occult practices, but they don’t explicitly emphasize drugs or potions. The cultural context of the Old Testament focuses more on idolatry and false prophecy than substance use.
I firmly believe that introducing blood or poisons into the body through injections or any other means taints and harms the temple of God and too often causes death. Vaccines are poison.
6. Underlying Principles
The Bible’s guidance on consumption centers on:
• Stewardship: Treat the body as God’s temple.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (FOGB)
. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit that is in you, whom you have from God [Theou], and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God [Theos] in your body
and in your spirit, which are God’s[Theou].
• Doing the will of God: Do all His commandments including the food laws.
Exodus 15:25-26 (FOGB)
There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them, 26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God [yhvh alhyk] and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord [yhvh] who heals you.”
• Moderation: Avoid gluttony, drunkenness, or excess.
Proverbs 23:20-21 (FOGB)
20 Do not mix with winebibbers,
Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;
21 For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty,
And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.
Ephesians 5:18 (FOGB)
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is degeneracy; but be filled with the Spirit
• Gratitude: Receive food with thanksgiving.
1 Timothy 4:1-5 (FOGB)
Now the Spirit explicitly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God [Theos] created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God [Theou] is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is set apart by the word of God [Theou] and prayer.
• Conscience: Respect personal and communal convictions about food.
Romans 14:1-4 (FOGB)
Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. 2 For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. 3 Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God [Theos] has received him. 4 Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God [Theos] is able to make him stand.
• Purpose: Eat and drink to God’s glory, not self-indulgence.
1 Corinthians 10:31-33 (FOGB)
31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God [Theou]. 32 Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God [Theou], 33 just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
Closing Words
While Old Testament dietary laws were specific to Israel, they’re also binding on Christians today.
Colossians 2:16-17 (FOGB)
16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
Eat, eat well, eat in moderation, eat for your health, eat for strength, eat with gratitude always. Feast occasionally, especially God’s Feasts.
There is good and bad science. There is good and bad medicine. There are good and bad habits. There is good and bad eating. There are clean and unclean foods. There are clean and unclean people. Watch and guard against all these things.
Pray for God’s guidance and blessings in all things.
John 14:15 (FOGB)
15 “If you love [agapao] Me, keep My commandments.
