Who Is Your God?
Who is your God? Where do the ideas and beliefs that you adhere to come from? Are they what is popular? What you have been taught? What you have come to understand through reasoning? Why do you adhere to them? Will they bring you fame, fortune, friends, acceptance? Will they save your life or lead you to eternal life? Or do you just accumulate beliefs to keep your sanity or to have an identity, to have something to talk about or to influence or bully others with?
Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead. (Matthew 28:6 and 7, Mark 16:14, Luke 24:6 and 7, John 21:14, John 3:13 to 15) It is a well documented historical fact and by far the most important historical fact.(1 Corinthians 15:14, Matthew 12:39 to 42) Through Him and this miraculous feat we can have hope of life eternal.(1 Corinthians 15:12, 20 to 23) His teachings as to how to attain life are recorded in the Bible, a readily accessible book in the western world at least and now globally through the internet.
He taught that salvation, that is to say the gift of eternal life, is attainable only through Him.(John 14:6 and 7, 1:12 to 13) One cannot be saved by any other name. Not by Buddha, Krishna, Mohamed, the Pope or anyone else can a person be saved but by Jesus Christ alone.(Acts 4:12) Some would say by the messiah Yashua, which is His Hebrew name. The only way that someone of a different religion can be saved is if he or she converts to Christianity, is called, repents, is baptized and receives the Holy Spirit.(Acts 11:18) It matters not how devout or revered that person is nor that he or she might be considered good by others.(Matthew 10:17 to 19) The adherence to the teachings and example of Jesus are what matters, obedience to the commandments of Jesus, the commandments of God.(Matthew 19:17, Luke 1:6, Matthew 5:19, 5:17 to 48, John 14:15, John 12:50)
Jesus is the God of the old testament.(John 8:58, 17:5, Matthew 16:15 to 17, Hebrews 1:2) He is part of the family of God.(Mark 1:11) He and His Father created the universe, the world and all that is in them.(John 1:1 to 3) Jesus is the door, the way to the Father who is Spirit and life and has life even eternal life, which is spiritual life, to give.(John 10:7, 14:6, 4:24, Romans 8:6 to 11) The God of the Bible must be your God if you desire to receive life. Your God must be your Lord, the one you believe and obey.(John 12:42 to 50, 14:15 to 21)
Many religions make false promises, wishful fantastic claims that no intelligent reasoning person would really believe.(Matthew 24:5, 23 and 24, John 10:8 to 18) God has come down from heaven and lived as a man to show the way and to give an example for all.(John 3:13, 17:5) We might get confused because we do not see ourselves or others performing miracles such as Jesus performed during His ministry. These miracles were not the example that we should follow but rather proof that He was the Messiah. The example he gave was outgoing concern for others yes, mercy yes, and obedience to His Father. Jesus observed the commandments to the full including the remembrance of the Sabbath and Holy Days.(Matthew 5:17, Luke 4:16, 2:41 to 43, John 5:1)
Many denominations of Christianity teach that Jesus is the Christ but they distort the message and the example that He gave and the person that He was. They do not take every word of God and the Bible for instruction but rather pick and choose favorite passages and weigh them as more important than others. They disregard those they consider of no importance and redefine or misinterpret those they cannot get away from. Many lie and deceive their way through life and do it with deadly seriousness.(2 Timothy 3:13 to 17, 1 Timothy 4:1 to 3, Titus 1:15 and 16, Matthew 24:5, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8)
God reveals His truth to whoever He chooses.(John 6:43 and 44) No one can come to Jesus lest God the Father send Him. If you recognize that your religious leaders are lying to you and are attempting to deceive you, perhaps because they are themselves deceived, then it is time that you search for better teachers and preachers. It is time that you get out of religious Babylon.(Revelation 18:4)
