The Walls Of New Jerusalem

Do not think that walled cities are a thing of the past. Do not think that walls are anti-Christian. Do not think that God Almighty is against walls. For the future New Jerusalem will have great high walls and only twelve gates to come and go by.

Revelation 21:10 (NKJV)
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Revelation 21:12 (NKJV)
Also she (Jerusalem) had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

Revelation 21:16 (NKJV)
The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.

Why does such a city at such a time need great high walls and gates? It is to control who comes in and out of the city.

Revelation 21:26–27 (NKJV)
And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Should we not follow the example of our Gods, Jesus and the Father, and their scriptures, the Bible, and fortify our borders and try to and aim to set proper standards for our citizens and for those who enter our nation(s)?

Walls are a symbol of freedom for the citizens they protect. Governments should protect good people from harmful evil people and harmful evil ways. Let God be our example and our guide in these difficult and troubling times. Make room for Jesus and His Father in your life that you might find yourself written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
