Sunday Shopping
Regarding Sunday shopping, it is a fallacy that the Lord^s day is on Sunday. The true Lord is the Lord of the Sabbath (see Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, Luke 6:5). The Hebrew word for seventh is from the root word ^shaba^ which means complete as in the week of creation. The word for rest has the root ^shabath^ which means to cease or rest. The word seven ^shibah^ is used as a synonym for week. Sunday is the first day of the week, a week that has been preserved since the days of the Exodus. Saturday is the seventh day of the week, the true day of rest, the day that was created by god, the day that Jesus preached on regularly (Mark 1:21, 6:2, Luke 4:16, 4:31, 6:6, 13:10).
It seems to me that a schedule could be arranged, for most people in most organizations, such that some would get Fridays off regularly, some would get Sundays off regularly, that all would get Saturdays off and that none would required to work more than a forty hour week.
It is on the seventh day of the week that you should not shop. It is ok to shop on Sunday.
