The Bible is a gift from God. It was not meant to be an ornament but rather a book of instruction, a help and a guide in the way to attain the freedom of eternal life as another gift from God.
In it God gave us the ten commandments. They are written out in Exodus 20 and again in Deuteronomy 5. Here is what the fourth commandment states, unless you use an adulterated version;
Exodus 20:8 to 11 (GNB) 8 Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to me. On that day no one is to workâneither you, your children, your slaves, your animals, nor the foreigners who live in your country. In six days I, the LORD, made the earth, the sky, the sea, and everything in them, but on the seventh day I rested. That is why I, the LORD, blessed the Sabbath and made it holy.
That is what the word of God states.
Mark 2:27 (AMP) 27 And Jesus said to them, The Sabbath was made on account and for the sake of man, not man for the Sabbath; [Exod. 23:12; Deut. 5:14.]
Mark 2:28 (AMP) 28 So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.
The custom which Jesus, His apostles and His disciples, the church, followed was to observe the Sabbath and to keep it holy: Mark 6:2, Luke 4:16, 31, 6:6, 13:10, 23:56, Acts 13:14, 42, 44, 15:21, 17:2, 18:4, Colossians 2:16, Hebrews 4:9.
This is the example that Jesus our Lord set for us.
Men, on the other hand, state that Jesus was raised from the dead on a Sunday. This is a lie. Jesus was raised from the dead on a Sabbath. Why is it that so many cannot read or understand that Jesus was NOT in the tomb on the first day of the week (Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20). The tomb was EMPTY in that respect. Jesus was NOT there. He had already risen some time before. There is NO basis for men to change God^s Sabbath in any way. Learn to trust the Bible not man.
Colossians 2:8 (NKJV) 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
