Righteous vs. Unrighteous
Ever since Jesus Christ God has expected the distinction between His followers and people of the world to be even more distinguishable than before. Israel of old, the descendents of Abraham, were meant to become a nation of priests, examples to the rest of the world. Israel rejected God and so this plan was put on hold.
Jesus reestablished the plan and opened it to all peoples and nations. His influence in western civilizations was great. The United States of America. in particular, was founded on Biblical and Christian principles.
Up until recent times moral Biblical principles prevailed in North America. Unrighteousness is now racing ahead of righteousness, witness, in no particular order, abortions, same sex marriages, banking practices, government spending and policies, the use of drugs both legal and illegal, the quality of food, the influx of Islam, the discarding of God and the Bible, the importance of sports and entertainment, etc.
God is a God of love, mercy and forgiveness but He is also a God of justice and He hates sin, the transgression of His law. His time for punishing the unrighteous is fast approaching. His ire is starting to show. His wrath will shortly be upon us unless the whole nation repents. What is the likelihood of that? Very slight I would say. Probably the best and first thing you should do is accept the sacrifice of Christ, the heir of creation, the Lord and King of the coming Kingdom of God, for your sins and receive forgiveness.
Get yourself a Bible and study. Prove to yourself that it is the word of God before you run out of time. Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) But Jesus answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Deuteronomy 8:3, Psalms 1:1 and 2) Learn about God and about His expectations and His plan for mankind.
