PRINCIPLES
God through His Son Jesus and through the pages of the Bible teaches good sound practical principles. These basic principles, there are many and some explained in detail, should be applied to all walks of life and in every church, club, business and institution in every municipality, every province and eventually every country.
Not everyone is now called and chosen for God^s church but all, or at least most, want a good life for themselves. God^s principles benefit all. They are a benefit to society.
There are some who want to destroy society. They are the ones who have no use for God^s laws or God^s principles.
Those who want a vibrant well run peaceful society would do very well to know and to live by God^s principles.
Is it more important to turn people to God^s church or to encourage them to live by God^s principles, the more the better?
One of God^s prime and basic principles is to be merciful. The world would be a better place is everyone was merciful.
Be merciful, is not one of the Ten Commandments. It describes more of an attitude. The Ten Commandments are basic fundamental requirements for a society to function. They are dos and don ts of fundamental behaviour like do not murder and do not steal.
While you are not murdering and not stealing you can be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, gentle, good, kind and self-controlled. These are basic human attitudes or principles that one can practice.
If you wanted to be religious you would add faith to this list, give God credit for these characteristics and call them fruits of God^s Spirit. This is the good and everlasting truth taught in the Bible.
Perhaps it is not for us to decide who is who but a true disciple of Jesus, a true son of God, not only lives by God^s principles but also by His Statutes, Ordinances, Laws, Commandments and as much as he can His every word, others are more casual.
