Nature teaches us a great deal; biology, physics, chemistry, astronomy ... We see God's handy work. We witness some of the characteristics of God, His attention to detail, His peace, gentleness and patience, His care for all plants and animals, His imagination, His organizing abilities, His greatness. There is much to experience and to learn in nature.
There are other sides to nature, death and the fear of death, animals of prey like the eagle and the hawk, the killer whale and the shark and the lion and the tiger and deadly forces of nature, hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes. There is much to observe in nature but there are many unanswered questions.
The Bible, on the other hand, shows us who and what God is and what He is doing. It tells us what to expect in the future, the end of the age, then the Kingdom of God with Jesus, followed by the end of the world, the final judgment and finally the new heavens, the new earth and the new Jerusalem. It shows us God's plan of salvation for mankind through Jesus. It tells us what God expects of us and how to attain His soon coming Kingdom. Without the Bible and God's true church to help explain it, man is lost.
My website is not necessarily a site for first steps. It is a collection of personal Bible studies, observations and commentaries on various random topics. A very good and thorough Biblically accurate and reliable website is www.ucg.org or www.ucg.ca. They are websites of the United Church Of God, An International Association. You won't find anyone claiming to be superior to God there.
