Major Bible Corrections Needed

1 - Easter: In the King James Bible the word Easter is found only once and it is an erroneous insertion. It is found in the book of Acts chapter 12 verse 4. In virtually every other version of the Bible the Greek word is translated correctly as Passover.

Acts 12:4 (AV or KJV) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter (should say Passover) to bring him forth to the people.

2 - The following verse is mistranslated in many versions of the Bible including the New King James Version.

Philippians 2:6 (NKJV) who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,

This passage should be translated according to the NIV translation which reads:

Philippians 2:6 (NIV84) Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

3 - 1 John 5:6–8 (NKJV, similarly KJV) This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

The words For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one are not found in early Greek texts of the New Testament. They were later inserted, about a thousand years later. There are adulterated words that do not belong in any Bible.

The NIV has it right as shown below.

1 John 5:6–8 (NIV84) This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

4 - Mark 7:19 (NKJV) because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?

The NKJV is rendered correctly but many Bible versions insert other words with this passage which is an adulteration of the text. For example:

Mark 7:19 (GNB) because it does not go into his heart but into his stomach and then goes on out of the body. (In saying this, Jesus declared that all foods are fit to be eaten.)

and

Mark 7:19 (NASB) because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated? (Thus He declared all foods clean.)

The words in brackets in the GNB and the NASB translations of Mark 7:19 do not belong in the Bible.

Finally - Why don't you write to your Bible publishers and tell them to correct these errors in subsequent editions? They consistently publish new editions without correcting these errors. Shame on them. You may use this list as is if you wish.
