KNOWING WHAT IS GOING ON
February 8, 2003Knowing what is going on is very important. When your an infant your mother watches over you and wants to know what is going on as much of the time as she can. Your parents loose sleep over you to comfort you in whatever way they can. When your a child your parents want to know where you are and what you are doing so as to guide you and take care of you. As you get older, good parents will keep an interest in what you are learning, who your friends are, what your hobbies and pastimes are and what your interests are. You also develop interests in your parents, brothers and sisters, and friends; experiencing things planning and executing things, practicing and perfecting skills.
As children of God, we are also nurtured by God, ministers and the church. God watches over us, plans for us and instructs us through the pages of the Bible and through His ministers and their insight. Knowing what God has planned for us is an intricate part of our development. I am told that one third of the Bible is prophecy. This indicates to me that prophecy is very important. Of course we should conduct ourselves as rational, concerned people at all times. This includes time spent in learning and teaching prophecy. Knowing what is going on and what is planned are very important to a person's well being. Being patient and even tempered are also critical.
