Jesus Our Saviour

Did Jesus die for our sins?

1 Peter 3:18 (NKJV)
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

Was Jesus God with God our Father since the beginning?

John 1:1–2 (NKJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 (NKJV)
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Was Jesus three days and three nights dead and entombed?

Matthew 12:39–40 (NKJV)
39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Is it fair to say that while Jesus was dead that He knew nothing and that He did not exist except in God's memory?

Ecclesiastes 9:5 (NKJV)
5 For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing,

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (NKJV)
7 Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.

Was Jesus resurrected by the Father?

1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Acts 5:30 (NKJV)
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.

Is it fair to say that being resurrected from the dead is tantamount to being created?

Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)
18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD,

Is it not true that if Jesus did not die and cease to exist as a separate living being for three days then we have no Saviour?

Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)
18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

Matthew 27:46 (NKJV)
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Matthew 27:50 (NKJV)
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

It was fair to say that Jesus eternally existed since the beginning when He was alive before His crucifixion. Now however, we know that He did not exist for three consecutive days and nights and that He therefore did not eternally exist as an individual, from eternity to death - from resurrection to eternity. The hyphen represents three days of death.

Have we been forgiven through the blood of Christ?

Matthew 26:28 (NKJV)
28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

Jesus is God and there is no other saviour.

1 John 4:14 (NKJV)
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

Hosea 13:4 (NKJV)
4 “Yet I am the LORD your God Ever since the land of Egypt, And you shall know no God but Me; For there is no savior besides Me.

John 17:21 (NKJV)
21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

1 John 4:14 (NKJV)
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
