There is only one Captain of Salvation, Jesus Christ. There is only one begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ. There is only one Word of God, Jesus Christ. There is only one book from God, the Bible. It comes in two parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. There is only one true religion. God has one great plan, the coming Kingdom of God. There is only one true Church, founded in the Old Testament by Jesus Christ who established himself as its head in the New Testament, the Church of God. The commandments that are of real relevance, that lead to salvation, are the commandments of God as found in the Bible. (Heb. 2:20, 1 John 4:9, John 1:1, 2 Timothy 3:16, Eph. 5:24, 1 Tim 2:7 (TLB), Eph. 4:4-6, John 6:48, 8:12-29, 11:25, 14:6, 18:37, Col. 1:18, 1 John 2:4, 2 John 4, Rev. 22:14)
Romans 15:4 (NKJV)
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
All diversions from these facts are distinct signs of false religions, deceptive practises and invalid or erroneous beliefs. If it is not from God it is pagan. Without God and His Scriptures there is no hope.
Don't kid yourselves, God only needs one good book, one religion and one church. There is only one salvation and that is through God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Anointed and Appointed One, The Captain of the Ship, The Captain of Salvation.
Hebrews 2:10 (NKJV)
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
The one true church is made up of the repentant, baptised, chosen people of God who accept Jesus as their Captain. This ship is headed to the first resurrection.
Many men and some women, throughout history, have started many false or pagan religions. Some are extremely popular, like Roman Catholicism, Islam, Protestantism, Hinduism and Buddhism. Some of these pretend to follow the teachings of the Bible while ignoring much or most of it. Others simply completely ignore the Bible. Either way they do not recognise or acknowledge the authority of it as the Word of God. They impose their own human authority over God. This causes many to be lead astray on a path that leads to death. Their power over the people will not last because God is a jealous God who accepts no rivals. This deception will be put to an end. It will be put to an end by none other than Jesus Christ himself when He returns as King of king and Lord of lords, the rightful heir to the Kingdom of God that is soon coming.
Hebrews 1:1–2 (NKJV)
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
Do not let yourselves be completely deceived. Do not remain in ignorance. Ignorance does not lead to forgiveness. Ignorance of the Word of God, the law of God, does not grant thee pardon. The repentant, the followers, the disciples, the doers of God's will, those who obey God's commandments, those who study, learn, believe and apply His teachings, these are the ones that God and Jesus will choose for their Kingdom.
Romans 8:16–17 (NKJV)
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
Ephesians 3:5–6 (NKJV)
it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,
Those who follow liars, deceivers, philosophers, false teachers and false prophets as well as those who follow false beliefs, false teachings and false ideas, traditions and rituals will fail to attain the Kingdom of God. Those who stubbornly hold fast to falsehoods through the great white throne judgment, the final instruction, the second resurrection, will also fail to attain God's Kingdom. (John 8:24, Rev. 21:8, 1 Cor. 6:9-10)
Take heed that you do not make total shipwreck of your life. The time to start taking action is now. Get on board the right ship and sail with the assurance of the Word of God that guides to life, eternal life.
Romans 6:16-23 (NKJV)
16Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
17But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
18And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
19I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
20For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
22But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God is sensible. The Bible makes sense. All of it makes sense. If you cannot make sense of it on your own seek help. Search for sensible answers, scripturally sound answers, until you find them. I can save you some rough, treacherous and even deadly sailing by directing you to United Church of God, ucg.org, for training to establish a basic fundamental foundation in the holy scriptures, that is in truth and sincerity. My own website, jacquesgauvin.com, has many articles built on this essential foundation.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NKJV)
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Isaiah 1:18–20 (NKJV)
Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
The key to finding the one true church of God is partially in the name 'Church of God.' The church of God is made up of those who know and follow God and His laws. There are some false 'Church of God' organizations also. Find one or the one that follows the ten original commandments of God. I say original because some people have altered them in their writing, even in some Bible translations. The fourth commandment is the 'litmus' test. It makes authenticity apparent. 'Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy ...' is the 4th of God's 10 prime commandments. The Sabbath, in spite of man's many attempts to change this fact, is the 7th day of the week, Saturday, the day that falls between Friday, the 6th day of the week and Sunday, the 1st day of the week. Astonishingly, very few churches respect the Word of God on this subject. It is truly and simultaneously shocking and amazing.
The Sabbath according to the Bible, is to be kept from sunset to sunset. This Sabbath is the prime sign, a very relevant sign, between God and man that those who observe it are God's chosen people. The Sabbath is not a day that God wants any man, dead or alive, to redefine, rename or alter in any way. It is as real and unquestionable as a rainbow which is another sign from God. A person should know the signs from God in order to have hope and faith in salvation. (Lev. 23:32 GNB, Exodus 31:13, 17, Ezek. 20:12, 20, Gal. 1:6-9, Gen. 9:13, 17)
Salvation is being saved from death or escaping death, not the inevitable physical death of the flesh but eternal death. In other words, salvation is receiving the gift, from God and Jesus of eternal life!
If you are reading these concepts for the first time, understand that these are only the first steps to boarding the one and only ship that Jesus is Captain of. There is much sailing to do to reach your desired destination. It is essential that you board the ship that Jesus is Captain of and not any other ship. Don't be fooled by any of the many great ships in the harbour nor by any of the lesser vessels. (Matt. 24:4-5, 1 Cor. 6:9)
But by all means, don't miss the boat.
