Iron Sharpens Iron
Many are aware of the saying Iron Sharpens Iron. It is even a Biblical verse. However, I think it is often misapplied as a spiritual principle. Iron is not sharpened by iron if it is hammered against but rather by sliding along side it as in sharpening a knife with a knife or a sword with a sword. Each blade is having the same effect on the other. When done right the action will reduce and remove dull areas and increase the effectiveness of the blade as a cutting tool or as a spiritual sword of truth. In more practical words it reinforces truth with precision and accuracy eliminating the spreading of lies, misconceptions and deceptions.

My brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right; but you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.
