Luke 16:16 and 17 (GNB)
The Law of Moses and the writings of the prophets were in effect up to the time of John the Baptist; since then the Good News about the Kingdom of God is being told, and everyone forces their way in. But it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest detail of the Law to be done away with.
So who is everyone and how are they forcing their way in?
1) The Roman Catholics, ~ 1.2 billion, are saying that the Bible is of no real concern that their way is good enough. They exchange heaven for the Kingdom of God and Sunday for the Sabbath. They observe their own appointed days and ignore the Holy Days of God. They discredit the Bible in many ways. In case some want to read the Bible they offer adulterated versions. It is their way not the way of God.
2) The offshoots of the Roman Catholic Church; Orthodox, Anglicans, Protestants, Lutherans, Mormons, Baptists, ... , ~ 1.0 billion, support and follow most of the customs and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. Although they read the Bible much more than the Roman Catholic Church they also ignore what it is saying to a great extent. It is their way not the way of God.
3) The Muslims, ~ 1.6 billion, recognize Jesus as a prophet but not as the Son of God and member of the God family. They thereby reject the saving power of God. They preach a different god and a different salvation. It is their way not the way of God.
4) Most of the other religious and non religious people of the earth, ~ 3.2 billion, reject or ignore Jesus Christ and the Bible completely. It is their way not the way of God.
5) The Jews, ~ 16 million, reject the New Testament and Jesus Christ. It is their way not the way of God.
A few strive to understand and live by the whole Bible making efforts to extract the true and intended meaning of every word and passage thereby finding the way to the Kingdom of God as directed, lead and guided by Jesus Christ, the Word of God.
Revelation 18:4 (GNB)
Then I heard another voice from heaven, saying: Come out, my people! Come out from her! You must not take part in her sins; you must not share in her punishment!
2 Timothy 3:16 (GNB)
