Correcting the Bible
Many of God’s ministers have pointed out errors in the Bible through sermons over many years.
Many Bible scholars have pointed out additions to the Bible through the ages.
All the English Bibles that I have checked contain errors. Some point out some errors in their footnotes or column notes but the errors remain in the text body.
I have heard it said many times that the errors that exist in the Holy Scriptures do not alter any fundamental beliefs to any significant degree. I disagree with that statement. Just ask yourself, which belief is more common in the world, the Holy Trinity or the two Gods, Father and Son? Must I remind you that there are billions of believers in the Holy Trinity and only thousands who believe that there are two Gods, Father and Son. We all refer to the Bible.
Have you forgotten the third commandment?
Exodus 20:7 (FOGB)
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God (yhvh alhyk) in vain, for the Lord (yhvh) will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
I can assure you that if you think of God other than what He is or they are then you take God’s name in vain. Of course no one is perfect but that is not an excuse to be blatantly wrong. If the doctrine of the trinity is false then it does not belong in the Bible. This is just one example, there are many.
God is not the author of confusion. There should be no errors in the Bible. Many of us have been keeping notes in our Bibles for many years to try to keep track and to stay aware of all the errors that exist. Some people are working on their own error free version of the Bible. I am one of those people.
1 Corinthians 14:33 (FOGB)
33 For God (theos) is not the author of disorder but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
The Bible warns about adding or taking away from the Word of God.
Revelation 22:18–19 (FOGB)
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God (theos) will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God (theos) shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
God, in the Bible, complains that his interpreters have done Him injustice.
Isaiah 43:27 (FOGB)
27 Your first father sinned, And your interpreters have transgressed against Me.
I have discovered many errors in translation in the Bible, thousands of them. Most of which where noticed and catalogued many years ago by Bible scholars much more knowledgeable of the original languages than I.
Jesus said :
Matthew 5:18 (FOGB)
18 For amen, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Matthew 24:35 (FOGB) Mark 13:31 Luke 21:33
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Luke 16:17 (FOGB)
17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail.
Jesus spoke with utmost confidence. The Words that He spoke of were sound and fully approved. That was two thousand years ago. Why would they have to be altered by anyone at any time in history?
2 Timothy 3:16 (FOGB)
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (theopnustos), and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness,
The original text should absolutely remain intact, unscathed, unaltered, unadulterated but pure and pristine and authentic as much as is humanly possible and as God encourages and gives us of His helpful and guiding spirit to translate into comprehensible, coherent and accurate English.
For now, we must toil in turmoil while being set free but when Christ returns and when we receive the transformation into spirit beings, we will be given the Word of God in a pure language and all scripture will be rendered 100% error free effortlessly on our part and in the twinkling of an eye. So, we are led to believe.
