The Body Of Christ

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body^s sake, which is the church... Colossians 1:24 (ASV)

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV)

For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members have not the same office: so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another. Romans 12:4-5 (ASV)

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12 (ASV)

For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, being himself the saviour of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself: for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church; because we are members of his body. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church. Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband. Ephesians 5:23-33 (ASV)

We know that the church represents the body of Christ and that the book of Revelation speaks of seven churches (see Revelation 1:4, 11, 20). The seven churches together comprise one body.

The seven body systems.

1 ~ the skeletal system
2 ~ the muscular system
3 ~ digestive system
4 ~ respiratory system
5 ~ circulatory system
6 ~ nervous system
7 ~ the epidermal system

And he (Christ) is the head of the body, the church: Colossians 1:18 (ASV)

For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:27~28

Therefore I have not included the reproductive system in the body of Christ.
