The Spirit of Anti Christ

no lie is of the truth. 22Who is the liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, even he that denieth the Father and the Son. 1 John 2:21-22

If you believe that Jesus is the Christ should you not believe and live by His teachings?

every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already. 1 John 4:3

From this statement we know that the spirit of antichrist has been around for thousands of years. It is nothing new. It is not exclusively something or someone who will appear in the last days. We have to be constantly on guard for such characters.

For many deceivers are gone forth into the world, even they that confess not that Jesus Christ cometh in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8Look to yourselves, that ye lose not the things which we have wrought, but that ye receive a full reward. 9Whosoever goeth onward and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the teaching, the same hath both the Father and the Son. 2 John 7-9

He that abideth in, that is to say bears patiently, tolerates, accepts, sticks to and or endures the teaching has both the Father and the Son. Here is some of the teaching of Christ:

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the Law, until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and so teaches others, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-20

How can your righteousness exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees if you do not know what they believed?

If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. John 14:15-21

So you see if you want to have anything to do with the Father and the Son you have to obey the commandments. Not twist, distort, redefine or dream up your own commandments, nor follow long standing traditions of men that are not derived from the Holy Scriptures. Those who do such things are deceivers, liars and have the spirit of antichrist. They will be considered least in the kingdom of God. They will be considered pitiful.

And ye have made void the word of God because of your tradition. 7Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, 8This people honoreth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me. 9But in vain do they worship me, Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men. Matthew 15:6-9
