YOU KNOW

In times of great calamity
we search to fight disparity
we write to calm our soul
in hopes to find good soil
where our thoughts will grow

At times when I am lonely
in need of tender company
I turn to God on bent knees
with thanks and sometimes please
and hope for what He^ll someday show

When I face impatient waves
and call out loud at mouthy braves
I vent my anger in my plight
and say I^ll soon sit down and write
in an effort to quench much sorrow

The quest goes on the flesh is found
they tease they tempt the lures abound
they make themselves the enemies
of righteousness and bent knees
perhaps they^ll see the light tomorrow
