THE DAY

They call them heretics ungodly men
Herbert W. Armstrong and his son
I learned much from them I^ll say
the way of peace they put in play.

Though now and then they went astray
on an ocean or foggy bay
through G.T.A. the word of God
has not yet run aground

Jesus has told of those who stray
who can^t tell darkness from the day
three whole days and three whole nights he d be away
the world has turned it into play

As sure as I^m alive today
the Word of God is here to stay
they don^t know dusk from break of day
that^s not how it was in Jonah^s day.

I^ll tell you now and when I^m through
I hope you find a brand new you
the day begins when the other one ends
that time of day when the light bends.

It^s bright on one side and dark on the other
it^s easily defined you need no chronometer
God has set the sun in the sky
no one needs to question why

The day begins when the sun is set
not at midnight when you need a rest
you re in the moon but it^s lost in space
the stars are scattered but the moon^s in place
it^s a guide for our months and dates

The moon was cast from keeping time
by decrees of Caesars
and holy Roman Emperors
but they are in their proper place
six feet under or without a trace.

You need not fear the dead are dead
priests and pastors pound your head
with demon thoughts and Satan^s lie
so they can get their cake and pie
and don^t you fret they eat it too
even if it makes you black and blue.

He is Lord of the Sabbath, that^s what He said
the Jews know well which day that is
and that^s the day He rose from the dead
the forth day He died and rose on the seventh
He is not a liar if you want to see heaven
those who are most miserable live in the flesh
we who are Christ^s look and long for our change
at His return at the end of the age.
