Hope Faith And Love
Hope faith and love the greatest of these is love
Jesus taught and Jesus healed
Jesus gave life and Jesus gave sight
No greater love has man ever seen
than Jesus a man not a dream
He walked above the righteous sects
whose use was less than snakes or insects
He strode through the noble and the proud
to whom he left his humble shroud
spreading truth a narrow path
warnings of judgmental wrath
setting free the speechless and lame
exposing all manners of self~righteous game
if Jesus was love and who could compare
should we look for another, do we dare?
Faith was found among servants and poor
the lonely the weak forgotten and sore
the prophets the patriarchs the brave and more
which was the greatest can you settle the score?
Jesus said of John the baptist no greater man was there than he
and no greater faith have I found than in the soldier who came to Me
I wonder who would be most true
perhaps it might be you?
Hope is surely the least of the three
not that you don^t believe or perform
the power it takes to calm a storm
is certainly not found in thee.
You pray for others and feel their pain
it^s just that you hope it^s not in vain
if what you say and do works out
sometimes with calm sometimes a shout
how can you take credit for this thing?
In hope I think I^m king.
Of faith I know but I am weak
I stumble when I should peak
Of love I^ve heard but this I know
I have a great deal to grow
If Jesus is love
the symbol a dove
the unknown soldier is faith
like a shield he won^t depart with
then by the grace of God I^m hope
simply because I^m not a dope.
