Better to be a slave of better judgement than a slave of desire.

The contrast between a Christian and a pseudo-Christian s treatment of the gift of eternal life is at times startling to the Christian and indistinguishable by the pseudo-Christian. I have encountered many who treat their eternal life as something taken for granted and they play with it as if it were pigskin, a football. They throw passes, kick it around, throw checks and body slams, trip, tug and push throwing their weight around all in an effort to get the upper hand. This symbolism is not Christian. Your eternal life is much more like a fragile seed that needs to be planted in fertile soil, nurtured, protected and cared for in order for it to grow and eventually bear fruit into perpetuity.
It is one thing to know history and the results of history. It is quite another to presume to know the consequences of alternatives to history, such as what would Russia have done to Canada if it wasn't for the U.S.A. I do not pretend to know the consequences of alternatives to history and certainly do not believe that anyone has that insight. Having said that I believe that Canada was right in supporting the effort to stop Hitler. I highly suspect that the efforts of George W. Bush to thwart terrorism by attacking Iraq may lead to WWIII. He has probably dug the U.S.A. into a whole that will only get deeper. The next world war will be the last world war and I see consequences of joining in it as death only. The only way to prevent it in my opinion is to stop the proliferation of arms. In my opinion Canada has nothing to gain by building up an arsenal or an army. It will only aggravate the enemy and make us a target. Our efforts are much better spent on promoting a civil, peaceful nation and world through peaceful means and to pray to God for mercy. Stop the madness.
Over the last thirty years there have been several attempts to answer the question What works in psychotherapy? Every time the answer has come back the same. It s the relationship that counts. As long as there is psychotherapy that will be true. Gestalt Therapy is the only approach that takes that seriously enough to let new figures emerge from a contemporary and very dynamic ground.

Prior to reading "From Sabbath To Sunday" by Samuele Bacchiocchi, I thought that the Romans observed a seven day week just like the Jews did for hundreds, if not thousands, of years before Christ. Apparently this is not provable by historic records. I thought that the Romans worshipped their gods predominantly on Sundays. I still do I just cant prove it.
If the Romans did not observe a seven day week prior to the first century AD or CE, then the Jews and Christians must be given credit for having introduced it to their culture and to western civilization. If the Romans did observe the seven day week then it was a custom handed down from Noah, with its roots in the week of (re) creation. What other evidence is there of where the custom began?
The week, established by God according to the book of Genesis, is becoming a global observance. Soon the moon will return to its former authority and govern the months and the beginning of the year, in the spring when the barley ears are green. It may take the return of Jesus to reestablish this natural phenomenon in the hearts of men.

If you are a baptized member of God's one and only true church, that is the flock that believes that there is salvation only through Jesus the Christ, YHVH, Yashua, the author of the one and only true religion that is taught through the pages of Jesus Christ's book the Bible and through his apostles, one of whom was Paul (1 Corinthians 1:1) who wrote:
But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more, 11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you; 12 so that you may behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need. (1 Thessalonians 4:10-12)
then you should do as Paul commands. Should this not also apply to the ministry?

Many people have distorted concepts of both life and death. Life comes in many forms; spiritual, both good and bad, human, growing for the harvest both good and bad, animal and vegetation, from the amoebae to the tree. Death also comes in many forms; planets (except earth), rocks, dirt, dust, molecules, elements, neutrons, electrons, etc. and fire, also ash and nuclear residue. Some think that some spirit beings are dead, nonsense. Spirit beings are alive, they are just a different life form.
The fate of Satan, the beast and the false prophet is torment day and night for ever and ever.(Rev. 20:10) The fate of the wicked is the second death. (Rev. 20:15, 21:8)

I have been approached on a number of occasions by people who do not know what to do with themselves or their lives. I have suggested things like cycling across the country and motor cycling through the mountains (which caused a few deaths). At the time I did not have much good advice to give because I did not know what to do with my own life. Apparently it is a common problem. I am better prepared to answer the question today.
Most people live following a number of traditions and religious beliefs that they have not even considered to justify nor to question. My first suggestion is to sit down and read the Bible. If you are only going to read one book in your life it should be the Bible. If you read with an inquisitive mind you will undoubtedly have questions. Feel free to ask me whatever questions you might have. I might be able to help.
The Bible is the most influential and most important book on the planet. It is a shame for anyone who is able to read to avoid it. It is readily available in this society and can be purchased very inexpensively. It will challenge your existing beliefs and establish some new ones. As you learn you will change for the better. Your perspective on religious observances and traditions will also transform. The Bible can guide you in every facet of your life eliminating false beliefs and establishing goals and a new life style. It will present you with many worthy challenges giving your life meaning.
May you grow in the kindness and what to do with my own life. Apparently it is a common problem. I am better prepared to answer the question today.
